While housing recovers, clean-tech continues to suffer

A123 Systems bankruptcy filing this week probably surprised no one… but wanted to share two articles with a broader perspective on the difficulty in the clean energy sectors.  I can sum them up pretty easily:

“The rise of abundant and cheap natural gas, a lack of clarity on carbon regulations policy and poor returns caused many backers to flee from the sector.”

In these fields there is always the threat of cheaper overseas alternatives, and I’m not sure how much we should strive to nurture and protect domestic companies in this space..
