DOE changes focus

On Sept 27, 2011 the Department of Energy (DOE) published a  “Report on the First Quadrennial Technology Review.”  The report suggests more research will be funded in areas of energy efficient transportation and electrical use and less in areas related to biofuels.  Within the biofuels sector, the DOE is looking more favorably on drop-in fuels, and less favorably on fuels that are likely to hit a blend wall that requires engine or infrastructure modification.  It looks as though the big C (conservation) will be gaining traction.
